Allegany 2006 When Bears Attack Coolers
First off no bears actually attacked us, they did come close, way to close! One nearly attacked my good friend Mike, but he scared him away with a cookie. Only to find out that the bear likes cookies, and came back for more!
The park was really quite when we were there, and to make matters worse the dumpsters have been moved to a newly created Recycling Center. This made for some very hungry bears, and with not many options for them they really were all in our business looking for a handout. Other than the cookie, we made certian not to feed them even a little. We kept our trash in the trunks of our cars, and all food inside, only liquor and drinks allowed to be left out. This didnt stop the bear from getting up on the liquor table and sniffing around. He also climbed up on my new truck to stick his head in the window, and he ended up sinking his teeth into the cooler and dragging it off the porch, only to find it full of beer!
All in all we saw between 5 and 6 different bear, the baby cubs were difficult to tell apart. We got to see a lot in the park this year, and I definately have the pictures to prove it! 1.5gig worth! Enjoy...
