lumber endgrain

i have been collecting hardword lumber pallets for a couple years, and have been sorting, storing, and drying lots of different stuff for various project needs.

there are many different kinds of lumber used for pallets and stickers these days. and if you know where to look it can be had very cheaply. i have recovered a wide varity of oak, ask, maple, poplar, cedar, aspen, and others. some have grain and figure that are truly amazing, and will be featured in another gallery.

most of my collection is maple, which i intend to laminate together soon for a toolbox carcass. its not going to be a tradittional toolbox, and this stuff will look right at home!

the toolbox is a little ways off at the moment, instead i have taken to stock preperation by planing many of the boards in this lumber rack.

some of these images will make great background images for any lumber reclaiming fans out there! i took a great deal of time removing all those nails and staples saving these silly sticks, they deserve the spotlight!
